The School of Journalism and Mass Communications
at San Jose State University is nationally accredited by
the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism
and Mass Communications, or ACEJMC.

It is the agency responsible for the evaluation of professional
journalism and mass communications programs in
colleges and universities.

The School of Journalism and Mass Communications
is one of 114 programs fully accredited
by ACEJMC.

Our advertising, journalism and public relations
undergraduate programs are  reviewed every six years.

That is to ensure the JMC School continues to meet its mission
to provide the best possible media educational experience.

A comprehensive self-study has been conducted
by the JMC School director and faculty.
Next an ACEJMC team composed of mass media academics
and industry professionals will visit campus
November 16th through 19th to confirm
the self-study findings and make recommendations.
