Update on Dr. Ken Blasé
Retired SJSU Broadcast Journalism Professor &
Director of the School of Journalism & Mass Communications

Ken could not join us for the October RTVJ Anniversary.
He underwent successful open heart surgery shortly afterward.
His wife Judith offers updates on Ken's condition:

Veterans Day.......Sunday, November 11th

Hi, All –

Just a quick note to let you know that Ken came home from the hospital
Wednesday.  He continues to recover at an astonishingly rapid pace, which makes all of us – including his doctors – extremely happy!

He is thrilled to be home, and I am thrilled to have him here!  He was so anxious to get out of the hospital and back into his own home and his own bed.  He looks good, and he feels good, too.  He says that he already feels better than he has in a very long time, even though he’s less than four weeks post surgery.  This gives us great hope regarding how well he will feel when he is fully recovered!

Judith

       RTVJ Reunion Week

A BIG Success!  Guest Reactions:

WOW!  WHAT A GREAT 50TH REUNION !
AND YOU ARE TO BE
CONGRATULATED FOR ITS HUGE SUCCESS.

I PARTICULARLY LIKED THE WAY
YOU KEPT THE SPOTLIGHT
ON YOUR STUDENTS. IT WAS
WONDERFUL THE WAY YOU
ARRANGED FOR THEM TO MEET
FACE TO FACE WITH RETURNING
ALUMNI -- AS WELL AS KEYNOTE SPEAKER SAM DONALDSON .
THE KIDS LOVED IT AND THIS
RELATIONSHIP REINFORCED
WHAT WE'VE TRIED TO TEACH IN THE CLASSROOM.

 I enjoyed my visit tremendously,
and I was impressed with the students:
their hard work and dedication to the reunion, and
their manifest abilities. Give everyone concerned
a hearty "well done." My best. /Rik

It was a wonderful evening indeed. Great to
re-connect with some people I have not seen
in a long time. I am still interested in working with the Update News staff and sharing some of my knowledge.

Bob, it was a wonderful night, and I'm just sick that
I had to be out of town for all the other festivities and especially, the classroom time.  Please call on me
for other in-class opportunities, and I'm always open
as a mentor should you think there's a good fit for me.
