Bio from the
San Francisco Chronicle
As senior
political writer for The Chronicle, Carla
has survived Midwestern food, bad bus tours
and a variety of forgettable presidential
candidates in Iowa, New Hampshire and around
the country since 1996. The highlight of her
coverage of California's gubernatorial races
came when Schwarzenegger capo Todd Harris
awarded her a coveted seat on the "Predator
1" press bus during the historic 2003 recall
election. The former pizzeria worker from
Jersey City and K Mart cashier graduated
from San Jose State University and has
talked her way into being a Hoover
Institution Media Fellow at Stanford
University, a Rotary International Fellow at
the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico,
and a Casey Journalism Fellow at the
University of Maryland. Go figure. She's a
regular political commentator on radio and
TV, including KTVU Channel 2 and KQED's
"This Week in Northern California" and
Dublin Newstalk Radio 106 in Ireland, where
she goes by the name Sinead O'Palermo.
Marinucci is married to a journalist, Roland
De Wolk, and has successfully used strongarm
tactics to convince their sons Joey, 20, and
Tony, 18, not to even think about it.
